Standard Specification 455 for projects letting in FY 24-25 eliminates the fixed or percentage feet of piling to pay for tasks such as preforming, redriving and splicing, etc. This presentation discusses the revisions to the Section 455, the new pay items now required in your Plans, and how to determine the quantities for each in projects with bridges founded on driven piles. This presentation will also clarify the geotechnical and structural requirements for Concept Plans attached to the RFP for Design-Build projects.
