Irene Cabral has over 25 years of experience in the emergency management field, 9 of those years focused on the transportation and infrastructure sector planning, response, recovery and response for, during and after emergencies that impact our State of Florida. She also coordinates disaster federal reimbursement with both FHWA and FEMA. She has worked in private, local and state government serving in different areas of disaster response and recovery, also provided technical assistance to other states and Central American and Caribbean countries (Costa Rica, Panama, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico). In addition to her long career in emergency management, she also served as a policy and budget specialist at the Executive Office of the Governor, federal grants coordinator, Human Resources Coordinator over State’s Collective Bargaining and State employee classification and pay, and Director of Human Resources for the FDOT. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration both from the Florida International University in Miami, FL. She is a voting member of the AASHTO Committee on Transportation Systems Security and Resilience (CTSSR) and the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association (FEPA).
