New bridge addressed structural deficiencies, improve traffic operations, provide multi-modal facilities, and improve navigation. Design and construction must avoid impacts to Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and the WWII Married Men’s Quarters. A full closure is the most effective and safe construction method. This decision was made in coordination with all stakeholders and intensive public involvement. The $122M project includes incentives/disincentives and “No Excuse Bonus” to expedite construction, reduce the detour duration, and avoid impacting more than one tourist season.
