Yamilet Diaz, P.E., holds the TSM&O Engineer – Freeways position for FDOT District Six in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. She is responsible for promoting the safety and mobility of the freeways and oversees the traffic management, incident management, and traveler information services for the state highway system in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. Ms. Diaz has played a key role in the development of the TSM&O Program over the years and has introduced several innovative strategies to the region, including vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) projects, connected and automated vehicles (CAV), traffic signal operations and maintenance, and many others. Ms. Diaz is a champion of the industry and has been recognized for her leadership with numerous industry awards throughout her career. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Florida International University.
