Trey manages FDOT’s Central Traffic Engineering and Operations Office in Tallahassee, which includes the Traffic Services, Transportation Management and Operations, Commercial Vehicle Operations/Incident Management, and Traffic Engineering Research Lab (TERL) sections. In addition, he helps provide statewide leadership for the emerging Connected/Automated Vehicles initiative, as well as advancing efficient implementation of Express Lanes in Florida. During emergencies, Trey is part of the ESF 1/3 team at the State Emergency Operations Center and has worked several emergency events there.
His transportation career spans over 25 years in the public and private sectors. Trey has participated in the planning, design, integration, deployment, operations, and/or maintenance of over 30 Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic signal projects in Florida.
Trey received his Bachelors of Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech and is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and Georgia. He is a member of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Committees on Traffic Engineering and Transportation Systems Operation, the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (NCUTCD), the Highway Safety Manual 2 Steering Group, and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).
