Mariano Berrios joined the Florida Department of Transportation in 1992 after working for the Federal Highway Administration for 9 years and 3 years in the private sector. Mariano initially worked for a year in the Roadway Design Office and then transferred to the Environmental Management Office in 1994 where he has worked since then. Mariano’s experience covers many highway related areas such as project management, specifications, environment and construction. Currently he serves as the transportation noise and vibration and air quality programs coordinator. Mariano is a member of the TRB’s Transportation Related Noise and Vibration Committee (ADC40). Mariano is also a member of the TRB Highway Noise and Vibration Subcommittee. He is also a member of the AASHTO Noise Work Group and chairs the FDOT’s Noise Task Team. Mariano has a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico.
