Dave started his career with the Florida Department of Transportation in May of 2008 after retiring from the Orlando Police Department. Dave began his career in Traffic Services completing access management and traffic engineering studies. Later Dave took his access management and transportation knowledge in assisting with driveway connection permiting. Dave was very involved in public outreach personally facilitating over 60 public hearings and assisted with over 100 others representing Traffic Services pertaining to access management and transportation study recommendations and solutions. In 2017 Dave was introduced to the railroad world and began a 4-year cross training opportunity to replace the incumbent railroad coordinator. This position is responsible for utilizing federal and State dollars to program railroad safety upgrades. Currently there are 4 railroads that transport freight within district 5 and Dave manages a work load of over 80 concurrent railroad projects. Public service has been a passion for Dave's entire working career as a police officer and now as a representative with the Florida Department of Transportation.
