Mr. Lameck works in the Modal Development Office for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 6 as the Freight and Federal Grants Coordinator. He is a graduate from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communications and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. His primary duties involve overseeing the district’s development of a thorough statewide freight program. He acts as the main point of contact for the district when it comes to freight-related topics and is a resource for questions about freight with other governmental bodies and the commercial sector. Helps to facilitate investment decisions in state-local, state-federal, and public-private freight transportation. Reaches out to freight customers/partners (shippers, carriers, and other relevant state and federal government agencies) with information, communication, and request for feedback through focus groups, forums, targeted e-mail lists, and surveys. He also coordinates federal grant opportunities with District Leadership and the Office of Policy Planning (OPP) in the capacity of the District Federal Discretionary Grant Coordinator. He identifies possible initiatives for consideration of federal grant applications by coordinating with the FDOT Work Program and FDOT District Leadership. Mr. Lameck’s primary duties as FDOT’s District 6 Grants Coordinator involves coordinating with Central Office Policy Planning department on potential discretionary grant opportunities for District 6; host discretionary grant opportunity meetings with District 6 leadership to determine potential projects for federal grant consideration, and provide updates on on-going grant applications; Coordinate with Local agencies, Consultant staff, and FDOT management on the drafting of a grant application to be submitted by the necessary deadline; Provide Letters of Consistency for a project application in a timely manner.
