Binod Basnet is a Project Management Engineer Supervisor III in the Design Office at Florida Department of Transportation, District 4.
Binod completed his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Tribhuvan University in Nepal in 2000 and worked as a CEI in hydropower construction project, overseeing tunnel construction. Later, Binod joined Lamar University in Texas and completed his master’s degree in civil engineering in 2005.
Binod worked as a project engineer on several land development projects in southwest Florida, and solid waste and air pollution permitting in south Florida before joining the Drainage office in Florida Department of Transportation, District 4 in 2014.
In the last 10 years with FDOT, Binod has designed and permitted several drainage projects, managed several complex, high profile and controversial roadways and bridge projects. Currently, Binod supervises the Consultant Management Section 5 in District 4 and manages the Sebastian Inlet bridge replacement design project and MR-MICCI (double tracking of the southernmost 1.25 miles of South Florida Rail Corridor) project.
Binod enjoys coordinating with community stakeholders to design FDOT projects that are safe, community oriented, and congestion free for all modes of transportation.
