This session introduces the recently published AASHTO/NSBA Steel Bridge Collaboration G12.2 Guidelines for Steel Bent Caps. The presentation will highlight key design provisions, detailing recommendations, and practical considerations for implementing steel bent caps in bridge projects. Attendees will gain an understanding of how the guidelines align with the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and FDOT Structures Design Guidelines and how they can improve efficiency, constructability, and durability in Florida transportation infrastructure.
