This presentation will provide an update to the steel design criteria in the FDOT Structures Manual and FDOT Construction Specifications. Topics include revisions to the 2026 Structures Design Guidelines (SDG) resulting from the adoption of the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, 10th Edition, updates to Specification Sections 460 (Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals) and 962 (Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metal Items (Other Than Aluminum)), and additional updates to other FDOT-relevant documents. Attendees will gain valuable insight into both current and upcoming changes that will affect structural design practices and steel bridge projects in Florida.
