FDOT’s Rail Safety Vision is to be THE national leader in rail safety by eliminating fatalities and reducing injuries involving Florida’s railroads. Actions toward this vision include spearheading the creation of the nation’s first Rail Safety Coalition to leverage partnerships within the rail industry and developing new design standards that go above national requirements for rail crossings that will be effective January 2026.
